Aims and objectives
This hybrid programme of e-learning, practical pre-task and 2 x 2 hour Live virtual sessions will teach you the skills, mindset and ways of working required to shift from reporting the findings to offering joined up, contextualised stories that communicate the ‘so what?’ and ‘now what?’ to different audiences.
The key take-outs are:
- The fact that humans need more than numbers and logic to make decisions and take action
- The importance of knowing your story anchor and what this means for your message
- The value in having a storytelling framework to help select the right evidence to support the argument and avoid data overload
- The importance of a good title, hook and ending if we want to attract and maintain the audience's attention
Learning Goals
After attending these sessions, we expect attendees to be able to:
- Understand how storytelling differs from reporting and how to integrate story ways of working into project processes
- Discover how to uncover a clear, compelling and insightful narrative quickly and efficiently
- Apply the ‘story on a page’ framework to develop tangible examples of great insight stories
